With a stack of clean laundry and a fresh loaf of bread it was time to cast off the dock from Echo Bay and head west and north into the upper region of the Broughtons. Departing with rain and thunder all around I motored slowly Sutlej Channel detouring into Greenway Sound to check out a small anchorage just inside the entrance. It looked fine but my goal was to get up into the more northern parts. The rain continued and was quite heavy at times and added to the feeling of having the place to myself. Saw one other boat so far. Turning into Grappler Sound the next possible anchorage to inspect was Claydon Bay which has a lot of room in two different locations. By now I was ready to call it quits for the day if the place wasn't too crowded. After finding only three other boats in the smaller northern section I picked my spot and dropped anchor.
