Near the western end of MacKenzie Sound is Blair Islet. Getting there involves going up and around Watson Island towards Jesse Point and timing a couple of narrows for slack tide. Tucked in around the south side of Watson Island and off of Burly Bay is a two or three boat cove offering quiet, gentle breezes, and views of nearby cliffs. Mount Stephens is in view off to the east as you make your way into MacKenzie Sound and turn southwest towards Burly Bay.

So far, this is my favorite spot. I didn't stay too long but there was something about it that felt quintessentially Broughton Islands. The mornings started with a bit of clouds and mist which slowly melted away to perfectly warm sunshine. A gentle breeze blew through a gap to the east which felt perfect in the afternoons and kept the temperatures perfect for sitting in the cockpit to read or just listen to nature.

There was one other boat here when I arrived and they departed the second day leaving the cove all to me. If not for a need to head over to Port McNeill in a few days I could have stayed for longer. I would recommend this spot if you can get it, especially all to yourself. A lucky sailboat was motoring in as I was leaving on the last day. If I ever return to MacKenzie Sound I want to visit Nimmo Bay which requires some proper timing because of some shallow entries.
